I've enjoyed Jason's novellas and love his style of writing. His short novellas are a tease and only make me want more. I gave "The Night Walk Men" 3 stars because I felt it was too short but this book is even shorter but I liked it more. I would recommend his novellas to my friends for a lunchtime read.
You've got to read this great book and experience the author's work. I am looking forward to reading more of this talented writer. The story reminds me of the old days of watching "The Twilight Zone" shows on a black and white t.v. and you'll never guess how it ends.
I was looking for the "beautiful sentences" touted in the featured promotion for Mr.McIntyre's work to no avail. Is this his only boring work? Slow moving and not enjoyable.
A very quick and creepy read, very reminiscent of the old black and white Twilight Zones...you expect to 'see' Rod Serling walking through the park. It's one of those stories where the scene is set for you in such a way that you are there, you can see and hear and feel the characters. Looking forward to finding other gems from this author. Very eerie story...remember karma will smack ya in the back of the head...or prick you in the hiney!
This short story is surprisingly full of depth, both with plot and characters. Right from the first sentence, Jason McIntyre captured my attention. The dialogue perfectly fit the characters. I felt like I knew these men, sitting there on that bench having a casual chat. The twist at the end caught me completely by surprise, giving a little taste of McIntyre's signature darkness. Loved it!

Two men sitting on a park bench begin a conversation baring their souls. Soon they discover something they didn't imagine, something very dark. A gripping short story with an original plot, twisted and dark. I really enjoyed Dark That Day, After All and recommend to those who love a great read!
After reading DARK THAT DAY, AFTER ALL I'd like to have the anthology. This is such a well-crafted story that twists along like a snakey mountain road in the middle of the night. It's very funny in places and I love the way the two men justify their stories they tell each other.
Both older men are funny when talking about their ages and things that go along with aging.
I really thought something entirely different was going to happen at the end. The story starts out benignly enough, but it doesn't stay that way for long. It's suspenseful, humourous, and for the characters, there is most certainly a lesson or two to be learned.
I'm going to search for more reading opportunities by Jason McIntyre. I loved this story and would like to read others like it.
